At Kamaglo, I breed primarily for performance purposes -- in order to get the next generation of show dogs. Usually the best of the litter stays here or goes to another performance home, but there are usually many pet quality puppies available to become beloved family members. My order of priority is 1) temperament, 2) health, and 3) performance. All breeding dogs have appropriate dispositions for golden retrievers; they are sweet, attention seeking, and very social. All breeding dogs have hip (OFA as well as PennHIP), heart (board certified cardiologist), eye (CERF), and elbow clearances (OFA or Guelph). As well, all breeding dogs, except in exceptional circumstances, have championship points or performance titles or both. The dogs I strive for are show quality, able to run in hunt tests, perform well in obedience and agility, and may be trained to title in any venue. Many multititled dogs sport the Kamaglo kennel name. "Cecilia", CH Kamaglo Cecily's Seed is expecting puppies by "Clive", Kamaglo's International. Puppies are expected the third week of February to go home early in April. "Sary", Kamaglo's Serendipity, will be bred on her next cycle, also to "Clive", she is expected in season in April, puppies would tentatively go home in July. There are tentative 2013 plans for breeding "Sary" to my best and favorite boy of the world, "Sinclair", CH Kamaglo's Original Formula, JH, CDX, WCX, VCX, OS. I have envisioned Sary as Sinclair's perfect wife since she was a puppy, her sweet, soft demeanor coupled with his extraordinary drive and trainability I hope may bring my next stellar performer, like Sinclair. |
