"Kammi" was my little darling.  Obtained as a puppy from Jim and Melissa Dais of Merigold Goldens, she was distinctly my "shoulda been" girl.  Six major reserves stood between her and her championship, after she was my first specialty winning dog, going Best of Winners over an entry of over 100 class dogs.  Kammi floated rather than moved, covered ground like few dogs are able.  She had the sweetest face ever and a personality that could live in any family.  Her natural retrieving ability and remarkable trainability were passed to numerous talented children and her mark is on everyone of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids -- very prepotent for producing her english type.  Kammi died tragically young at age nine due to complications following surgery for an intestinal obstruction.  One of my greatest disappointments was never having finished her deserved championship and losing her when sweet old age was just beginning.  She grins on through her beautiful descendents.
